2023 Clinical Excellence Award Nomination: Nurse Preceptor - NYP/CUIMC
Individual Award
Purpose:
To recognize a registered nurse for expertise as a preceptor to new clinical nurses, clinical nurses transferring from other units/departments, float nurses, and/or student nurses.
Criteria:
The nominee will:
Be employed by NYP for a minimum of two (2) years at time of submission.
Receive a minimum of ‘meets expectations’ on the most recent annual performance appraisal.
Have functioned as a primary preceptor for at least one (1) clinical nurse in the past year.
Possess a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nursing.
Have attended the formal NYP Preceptor Education course within the last five (5) years.
Demonstrate evidence of professional development and continuing education in nursing in the past year.
Demonstrate contribution(s) addressing the strategic priorities of NYP. At least one NYP Strategic Priority must be addressed in the nomination statement.(Scroll down for NYP Strategic Priorities).
Demonstrate a commitment to and role modeling of behaviors consistent with the NYP PPM. At least one NYP PPM component must be addressed in the nomination statement. (Scroll down for NYP PPM).
Demonstrate a commitment to and role modeling of behaviors consistent with the Magnet Recognition Program® Model components. At least one Magnet® Model component must be addressed in the nomination statement. (Scroll down forMagnet® Model components.)
REQUIREMENT: The nominator for this award must be someone for whom the nominee has functioned as a preceptor.
