Malnutrition in Victorian Cancer Services GP & General Practice Nurse Survey |
Cancer Malnutrition Survey for GPs & General Practice Nurses
Participant Information Statement
This questionnaire has been developed to ascertain current practice and education needs of General Practitioners (GP) and General Practice Nurses (GPN) in regards to cancer malnutrition.
The results of this survey will be used to inform the development of cancer malnutrition resources for clinicians working in the primary care and community sector.
Cancer malnutrition has been defined as a condition that results from the activation of systemic inflammation by the underlying disease (cancer). The inflammatory response causes anorexia and tissue breakdown that can, in turn, result in significant loss of body weight, loss of skeletal muscle mass, and declining physical function. Patients may suffer from malnutrition irrespective of initial body weight.
As a GP or GPN working within Victoria, you are invited to complete this survey. This survey is voluntary, and you are not obligated to take part. If you do complete the survey you will be providing consent for your answers to be used as part of this research project.
This survey is anonymous. However, upon completion of the survey you have the option to leave your contact details if you would like to go into the draw to win a $100 Coles Myer gift voucher. All contact details will be separated from the survey results prior to analysis for de-identification purposes. No participant names or other identifying information will be included in results or reports.
