Queensland Writers Centre –
Manuscript Assessment
Manuscript assessments give writers access to the objective opinions and analytical skills of literary professionals. We’ll match your work with the best fit from our broad-ranging list of assessors to receive constructive criticism for an expert in your area.
Your assessor will look at the overall structure, content and style of your work to give you a ‘big picture’ overview of its strengths and weaknesses, potential for improvement, and further suggestions. You may request an assessment focusing on certain aspects of your work - pacing, dramatic tension, character arcs, etc - or simply a broad overview.
You’ll receive a structural edit and an assessment report, allowing you to rework and develop your manuscript, as well as have the opportunity to meet briefly with your assessor to discuss your intentions and aims.
Manuscript Assessment applications received now will be for services commencing in 2025. Queensland Writers Centre's offices reopen from 13 January 2025.
