The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is consulting on proposed changes to options for importing food and fibre plants for planting.

We want to support New Zealand’s food and fibre industries by speeding up imports while maintaining our existing level of biosecurity risk management.

We want your feedback on:
  • the suitability of proposed options
  • any other options, or combinations of the options we’ve proposed, that we could use to improve the system.
If you prefer to make a written submission instead of completing this survey, email your submission to plantimports@mpi.govt.nz by 5pm on 31 March 2025.
