To be eligible for nomination, entrants must have made a significant contribution to the promotion and protection of human rights in Newton and been active in this non-professional area for several years.
Examples could include:
• taking action to overcome discrimination or infringements of human rights within Newton
• encouraging greater social harmony in a range of areas such as race relations, gender equality and the treatment of children and young people
• enhancing the rights of a specific population
• promoting equal opportunity for people with a disability or countering discrimination on the basis of age or sexuality
• increasing awareness of issues of injustice and or inequality
Statement
• Attach relevant supporting documentation (if applicable).
• This could include news articles, biographies, evidence of campaigns or work of the nominee, references and contact details of any referees.
• You may wish to enclose a copy of a biographical note or curriculum vitae of the nominee (up to 5 pages)
• You can enclose up to three letters of support (this is optional and should be up to 5 pages).
Please note: by entering the Human Rights Awards the nominee agrees to details of the nomination and of the supporting material could be published in publicity material for the Human Rights Awards.
All submissions must include the nomination form along with supporting documentation. Deadline for nominations is November 1, 2024.
