Consent to Participate in Research Study

You are invited to take part in a research study that aims to understand how the counselor's role (victim, rescuer, persecutor) within the Drama Triangle influences the therapeutic relationship. Licensed professional counselors/therapists and student counselors in their practicum or internship are eligible to participate in the study. The following is an informed consent and a short summary of the study to help you decide whether to participate or not.

Key Information
Your consent to participate in this study is being sought through a description of activities in this form. Participation in this study is voluntary and you can choose not to participate or withdraw at any time without any penalty.
Participation can take 20-25 minutes in the form of an online survey. This is an anonymous survey. No names, email addresses, or other identifiable information will be collected.

● If you agree to participate in this study, you will be asked to:

- complete a brief online survey with 9 questions, asking for basic demographic information.

- complete an online survey with a total of 120 questions, using a multiple-choice scale, evaluating levels of the each of the Drama Triangle roles, the counselor’s therapeutic relationship, and the counselor’s schema.

Information you should know.
Your participation to the study is voluntary. Whether you decide to participate it is up to you. You can agree to participate and then later change your mind. Your decision will not be held against you or result in penalty. If you have questions about the study, you can contact

Privacy
No identifying information will be collected for this study. Any information you provide will be kept confidential. The researcher will not use your personal information for any purposes outside of this research project. Data will be kept secure by password protection and data encryption. Data will be destroyed after publication.

Data Sharing
Aggregated results from this study may be published in professional venues. Any identifiers will be removed from the data so no one will be able to identify you from information shared.

Benefits and Risks of Being in the Study
There are no direct benefits from participating in this study. It is possible that some questions may cause emotional discomfort that can be encountered in daily life, such as feeling sad or contemplative. Compensation
If you complete all the questions, you can choose to enter a drawing to win a $50 Amazon gift card. Two participants will be selected. To enter, provide your email address, which will be kept separate from your survey responses.
