Introduction

What is this survey about
The Carers (Scotland) Act came into effect on 1st April 2018. The Act extends and enhances the rights of carers in Scotland so that they are able to access information, advice and support to help them in their caring role and to have a life alongside caring.

We know that around 1 in 7 adults in Scotland provide unpaid care to a family member or friend, and not all of them are aware of, or access, the support that may be available to them. Some of these carers may also be people who use your services.
The 'Coalition of Carers in Scotland' (COCIS) is undertaking this quick survey to gauge the level of awareness that staff in third sector and community organisations in Scotland have of the Carers (Scotland) Act.

How we will use the information you provide
COCIS are funded to support third sector organisations in Scotland with the implementation of the Carers(Scotland) Act. Your responses will help us to understand how best we can support you with this -  for example we may be able to assist with training / resource needs around understanding what the carers act is and how your organisation can better support carers who may be accessing your services.

Please be assured that your responses to this survey will remain confidential. We will summarise the findings, but no names or identifying information will be included in any publications or presentations based on the data.
We will only use any contact details you provide to get in touch with you if you indicate that you would like to receive any further information from us.

How long will the survey take to complete?
This survey should take no more than 5 minutes to complete and will remain open until 10th May 2019.
