I appreciate your interest in hosting a vaccination event sponsored by the National Indian Health Board (NIHB)! You can request up to $15,000 for a single vaccination event.
This funding opportunity aims to support Tribal health organizations (e.g., Tribal health departments, health care facilities, health systems, etc.) in organizing COVID-19, Flu, and RSV vaccination events. These events may include vaccination clinics, vaccine drives, back-to-school events, and similar activities. While events must focus on COVID-19 vaccines or boosters, other vaccines may also be offered and promoted. NIHB will provide Act of Love kits (1 box = 54 kits) that you can distribute to attendees at the event.
All events must conclude by June 15, 2025. Examples of eligible expenses include, but are not limited to:
- Meeting space rentals
- Advertising and promotion for the event
- Event setup (including infrastructure needs such as generators and refrigeration)
- Incentives for attendees and event swag (limited to $20 per person)
- Salaries for event staff
If you have any questions regarding funding, please contact Audrianna Marzette, Public Health Policy and Programs Manager, at infectiousdieases@nihb.org.
Funding requests will be accepted on a rolling basis in the order they are received as long as funds are available. Successful applicants will be required to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the National Indian Health Board (NIHB) to provide information on the number of event attendees, number of people vaccinated, event photos, and a summary of the event. NIHB will share event outcomes in the NIHB newsletter and report to the funder.
**Important Notice:** We cannot fund direct healthcare-related patient costs. This includes expenses for purchasing vaccines and staff salaries involved in vaccine distribution. Additionally, we cannot support the cost of food for event attendees. However, funds may be used to provide meals for event staff working during mealtime. If you are unsure whether a particular cost is appropriate, please contact us for clarification.
This funding opportunity is supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of financial assistance awards totaling $4,000,000.00, Vaccine Hesitancy, with 100 percent funded by CDC/HHS.
