The Ohio Department of Education, Office of Integrated Student Supports received a waiver, allowing child nutrition sponsors that participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program to substitute meal pattern components during food shortages. These meals are eligible for meal reimbursement.
Child and Adult Care Food Program sponsors must complete this notification form when experiencing food shortages, and maintain food shortage documentation in the form of distributor emails, dated photographs of store shelves, screen shots from the food ordering system, etc. Indicate the substitutions on the production records and/or menu.
