LBA Gender Equity Committee: Mentor Questions
Thank you for your interest in the LBA’s Mentoring Program, brought to you by the LBA Gender Equity Committee. This program is designed to connect practitioners of any age and experience level with an experienced mentor in the area in which the mentee is seeking guidance. The mentor will provide support and assistance tailored to the mentee’s expressed needs. Mentors can likewise come from any age or experience level to offer guidance from their own real-life experiences to their mentees. Applicants may apply to be a mentor AND a mentee if they feel they could benefit from participating in both capacities. Once applications are submitted, the Gender Equity Committee will match mentees with mentors based on the information provided in the application process. By applying, the mentors and mentees each agree to meet the program’s minimum requirements of having at least one in-person meeting with their mentee/mentor each month for 12 months. At the end of the 12-month cycle, mentors and mentees may elect to continue with their match or may agree to part ways. Throughout the process, the Gender Equity Committee team is here to help see each match through and provide support as needed to make each match as successful as possible.
