Application form for the MICCAI Society Registration and Travel Grants, the NIH Participation Awards

Note:
  • Applicants can apply for multiple grants or awards in the same application form but will not be allocated more than one. Please do not submit multiple applications.
  • The grants/awards are intended to support in-person participation in the MICCAI conference. If a selected grantee is not able to attend the conference in person, the grant will go to the next candidate on the ranked list.
I. MICCAI Society Registration and Travel Grants

Recipients of the MICCAI Society Registration Grants will receive waiver codes to cover conference and satellite event registrations and one-year society membership fee.

Recipients of the MICCAI Society Travel Grants will receive financial support of up to $2,500 per grant to contribute towards conference registration, MICCAI membership, lodging, and travel costs.

Eligibility: All members of the MICCAI community are eligible to apply for the MICCAI Registration and Travel Grants. The selection of the grantees will prioritize the following criteria:
  • Authors of a paper accepted in the MICCAI conference of that year.
  • Candidates who are a current student or within two years of their terminal degree (i.e., MICCAI Young Scientists), or those within four years of their terminal degree (i.e., Early-Career Scientists).
  • Candidates from underserved gender and racial/ethnicity groups, differing abilities, low-income and lower-middle-income countries, or countries that are underrepresented in MICCAI conferences.
  • Candidates with other diversity background.
II. NIH Participation Awards
The NIH Participation Awards provide funding to USA-based students and early career scientists to attend the MICCAI 2024 conference. The awards aim to enhance diversity in conference attendance and provide underrepresented groups with an opportunity to reach an international community for career development and scientific collaborations.

The awards cover in-person MICCAI 2024 conference registration, which includes the main conference and both days of satellite event, and one year of complimentary MICCAI Society membership. Awards will be given in the form of registration waiver codes.

Eligibility: All USA-based students and early career scientists (within four years of their terminal degree) are eligible. Priority will be given to authors from underrepresented populations per NIH definition in the Biomedical, Clinical, Behavioral and Social Sciences in Research. III. Travel Grants for African Participants
The African Grant supports African students and early-career researchers to attend MICCAI 2024.

Selection Criteria:
  • Grantee is an African national based in Africa and is affiliated with an African university or research institution.
  • Grantee is a student or an early career researcher (less than 4 years since PhD completion).
  • Grantee has an accepted peer-reviewed paper at MICCAI 2024 (at the main conference or at one of the satellite events) or is the co-organiser of an accepted peer-reviewed sat
