The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) values the safety of our employees, customers and partners. Their protection is accomplished through various programs and initiatives; however, MDOT wants to do more! MDOT wants to strengthen our safety culture which requires a vital component, YOU. MDOT is asking that you, our employees, make safety a top priority in your everyday life.

By signing the MDOT Safety Pledge, I agree to:
  • Make workplace safety my number one priority every day;
  • Report to work ready to safely perform my job duties;
  • Conform to workplace safety policies, procedures and requirements;
  • Dress appropriately for each work task by properly wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and clothing;
  • Immediately report hazards and safety concerns to my Supervisor/Manager, and/or safety representative;
  • Be accountable for my own safety;
  • Contribute to the safety of those around me, by encouraging my fellow workers to be safe;
  • Do my part daily to strengthen a culture of safety through conformance and compliance throughout my workplace and MDOT.
