Volleyball NZ are seeking expressions of interest for the following:
FISU World University Beach Champs in Rio de Janeiro - 02 - 08 September, 2024
To be considered for selection, athletes will need to complete the following form as a team by Sunday 2nd June 2024.
Only the following may participate as athletes in a FISU World University Championship:
a) Students who are currently officially registered as proceeding towards a degree or diploma at a university or similar institute whose status is recognized by the appropriate national academic authority of their country;
b) Former students of the institutions mentioned in a) who have obtained their academic degree or diploma in the calendar year preceding the event;
c) Be a national of the country they represent (New Zealand);
d) Be at least 18 and no older than 25 years of age on the 31st December of the year of the event, for 2024, athletes must be born between the 01/01/1999 and the 31/12/2006.
All athletes will be responsible for their own planning/costs including travel, insurance, food and accomodation (during the event is covered in the fees below). Uniforms will be discussed once selections are made.
Additional costs incurred include:
FISU REGISTRATION FEE - 20 EUR per athlete and official
PARTICIPATION FEE - 80 EUR per night and per person
ITO CONTRIBUTION FEE - 500 EUR per team
We currently have one spot per gender and the teams will be selected upon recieving the expression of interest. We have since enquired to reserve a second team and will be communicated accordingly.
Athletes may be required to complete additonal forms including
- player agreements
- drug education
