Even sunny San Diego can get snow—with a little help from modern magic! We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help turn Lakeside’s favorite park into a frosty, family-friendly winter wonderland. This is your chance to enjoy a unique experience filled with fresh snow, sledding, games, and festive fun!

  • Time: 2 – 6 p.m. (Event runs from 2 – 5 p.m., with additional time for breakdown)
  • Volunteer Roles: Help our staff run activities, assist families, and wrap up the event.

Helpful Information:

Check-In/Out: Make sure you check-in at the ball fields at Lindo Lake County Park, 12660 Lindo Lane, Lakeside, CA 92040.

Parking: The easiest parking location is near Lakeside Community Center at 9841 Vine St., Lakeside, CA 92040.

Restrooms: Restroom facilities are available in two locations. The closest is at Oakoasis County Preserve, just across from the trailhead. Additional restrooms can be found about half a mile up the trail at El Capitan County Preserve.

What to Bring and Wear: Please come prepared for an outdoor adventure! Wear closed-toed shoes and layers to stay comfortable in changing temperatures. Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated, and don’t forget sun protection such as sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. Even with snow, this is still San Diego county.

Community Service Credit: If you need community service credit for school, work, or court, we can provide documentation on the day of the event. Just let us know at check-in, and we’ll ensure you receive the necessary verification for your hours.

Attendance Reminder: Your presence is crucial to the success of this event! Each volunteer shift plays an essential role in supporting our participants along the trail.
