SBC: Shaping Our Evaluation Criteria June 14, 2017

1.There are many criteria we will use in the coming months to evaluate the relative value of Lincoln School project choices. Some of those criteria work well together, while some may be mutually exclusive. The School Building Committee is asking you to help us understand how the community currently feels about some of these criteria. Your feedback is critical to this process! Thank you for your help!


We should maintain the current "L-shaped" footprint of the school.(Required.)
2.We should take a "blank slate" approach to the design (i.e. Consider possible changes to the footprint.)(Required.)
3.We should consider all new construction.(Required.)
4.The primary focus of the project is a design that focuses on our educational vision.(Required.)
5.The primary focus of the project is to make repairs and meet code.(Required.)
6.The project should reach high energy efficiency standards.
(The 2008 Town Facilities Energy Performance Standard By-Law States: "Any town-owned buildings to be constructed or town-owned building undergoing major renovations shall be designed, to the extent practicable, as set forth below so that the fossil fuel-generated energy consumption of the buildings is reduced...by the percentage specified: 50% reduction by 2008; 55% reduction by 2010; 65% reduction by 2015; 80% reduction by 2020; 90% reduction by 2025; 100% reduction by 2030).(Required.)
7.Adding additional recreation fields is important.(Required.)
8.Building safety and security are a primary consideration.(Required.)
9.We need to minimize construction time.(Required.)
10.Each of these criteria will have cost implications. Please put these criteria in order of their importance to you. 1 = this is my most important criteria, 2 = second most important criteria... 7 = least important(Required.)
