ESOT Legacy Award - nominations 2025 |
Nomination criteria and rationale of the award
We are inviting all ESOT members to nominate outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of transplantation and to ESOT.
This is an excellent opportunity to recognise the achievements of our colleagues and to raise the profile of the society. We are requesting more formal and confidential nominations, with citations and nominations being carefully considered by the Council and the Executive Committee.
Please submit your nominations as soon as possible and no later than 23 November 2024 to be considered for this year's selection. We will also be looking to improve the selection process in the future, and your input is vital in this regard.
The Awardee(s) will be notified by 31 January and will be invited to join the ESOT Congress 2025, in London.

Rationale
The award is for truly outstanding and sustainable achievements and/ or most exceptional long-term contributions of an individual, with well-known and respected ethos-conduct, in one or more of the fields of organ, tissue and cell donation and/ or transplantation and in one or more of the following domains:
- Research (basic, translational, clinical)
- Clinical advancements
- Training and education
- Organisation and governance
- Social impact
Nomination criteria
- Call for nominations by all ESOT members in good standing as of the day of publication.
- The nomination is limited to one individual only.
- Nominations are in strict confidence, without the knowledge of the nominee and without canvassing of support by any of the parties involved.
- The nomination must consider the principles of equality, fairness and inclusion.
- The nomination format is a 250-word essay explaining specifically why the nominee meets one or more of the criteria for the Legacy Award.
