Wheaton Placemaking Initiative

Montgomery Planning is launching a placemaking initiative to invigorate and enhance downtown Wheaton. This project aims to create a more welcoming, cohesive, and functional environment by transforming underutilized public spaces to better serve the community. In reimagining these areas, the initiative seeks to build a welcoming experience in downtown Wheaton that reflects the district’s unique character and potential. The Placemaking Initiative is building off of previous planning work like the Wheaton Downtown Study to implement those recommendations.
