About Us
Established in 1996, Land Stewardship Centre (LSC):
  • Is dedicated to promoting and supporting sustainable land management and conservation practices.
  • Offers resources, tools and expertise to individuals, communities and organizations to help steward and enhance Alberta’s ecosystems.
  • Facilitates partnerships, promotes private land conservation and develops programs and initiatives that support individual and collaborative stewardship efforts.
  • Empowers people to make meaningful actions for environmental health and sustainability.
About the Board of Directors
LSC's Board of Directors brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise from diverse backgrounds and experiences. The board is responsible for the governance of and providing strategic direction to the organization. The board also oversees the Executive Director, who is responsible for day-to-day management of programs, staff and contractors.

Overall, directors contribute their knowledge, expertise and skills to ensure year-to-year excellence of and long-term sustainability for the organization. The board meets a minimum of four times per year and directors are required to attend in-person and virtually, participating actively in board business.

Seeking New Board Members
We are currently seeking committed individuals to serve a three-year term on the board. This is a volunteer (non-paid) position. Interested individuals, who have the appropriate knowledge and expertise to represent one of the following key areas, are invited to complete the application form and submit it to the board for consideration:
  • Community member
  • Non-government organization
  • Indigenous community
  • Industry / Business (i.e., forestry, agriculture, finance)
  • Academia/Research institution
