Living with the Coast Workshop
Saturday, April 5, 2014; 10:00am-3:00pm
Jefferson County Library, Port Hadlock
Shoreline landowners in east Jefferson County are invited to attend a FREE workshop on coastal process and shoreline erosion management. A limited number of free site visits by coastal erosion specialists will also be offered to qualifying property owners. During the site visit, qualifying property owners will be provided with specific recommendations regarding management of their shoreline properties.
Who should attend?
While this workshop is designed specifically for marine shoreline landowners along the eastern shorelines of Jefferson County, it is also open to any shoreline property owner in Jefferson County.
Consider attending this workshop and apply for a free site visit if you:
- Live on a bluff and have experienced erosion, drainage, or vegetation issues and want to find ways to reduce impacts to your property.
- Have a broad beach or low bank and want tips on how to protect your property while promoting healthy marine ecosystems.
The workshops will consist of a two hour classroom presentation and a beach walk/field trip afterward. Please bring clothing appropriate to the weather and sturdy shoes for the field trip.
This outreach effort is a project of the Northwest Straits Foundation in partnership with the Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee. Funding is provided by the Northwest Straits Commission, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Sustainable Path Foundation, and the Burning Foundation.
If you have questions about the workshop or the site visit opportunity, please contact Lisa Kaufman at the Northwest Straits Foundation at (360) 733-1725 or email
