Objectives:
- Understand the difference between certifying and prescribing
- Understand the requirements for certifying a patient
- Understand changes in cannabis law
- Discuss the opioid crisis in America
- Describe regulatory changes regarding medication assisted treatment for addictive disorders
- Describe buprenorphine for opioid replacement therapy
- Identify individuals at a high risk of suicide risk factors protective factors
- Evaluate risks of an intervention on an individual patient basis
- Strategies to mitigate the risk of misusing an intervention for suicide
- Identify new CDC opioid guidelines
- Understand implications of new CDC guidelines
- Participants will be able to describe current trends in abuse and diversion of ADHD stimulant medications
- Participants will be able to identify at least two reasons why stimulant medication is prone to abuse/diversion
- Participants will be able to determine at least two changes within their current practice that may be implemented to address abuse/diversion of stimulant medications
