Thank you for your interest in participating in the 2024-25 ULI Atlanta YLG Mentorship Program. To apply, review this application and write your answers to each question in the blanks below before sending your completed PDF to Austin Combs at austin.combs@uli.org.

All open-ended questions should be answered succinctly in no more than one
paragraph unless otherwise noted. Please contact Austin Combs at austin.combs@uli.org if you have any questions.

Applications are due by COB Thursday, September 19. Late submissions will not be accepted. You will be notified with congratulations or regrets by COB Friday, October 4. Mentors and mentees will be notified of group pairings at least two weeks in advance of the first group outing on Thursday, November 7.

NOTE: Current Etkin Scholars will no longer be permitted in the program as that program will now have its own mentorship aspect.

MENTEE CRITERIA

Commitment: Each mentee must be committed to the program in order to create the type of atmosphere necessary for success. Attendance and participation in each group outing of the program is expected.

Structure: Each mentorship group shall consist of two young professionals and an industry mentor. Groups are expected to meet at least once a month for the length of the program. The cadence, schedule, and topics of discussion are totally up to each group, though.

Active Participation: Mentees should have a clear idea of what they want to achieve through the program, whether that be obtaining career advice or learning from their peers and mentor about specific issues in their sector. Each mentee group must take responsibility for scheduling and communicating the structure of the first meeting with their mentor. From there, future meetings can be arranged as availabilities permit. This is crucial to taking the scheduling work off the mentor’s hands and keeping the group together. If your mentor is unresponsive, please notify program chairs Sarah Buckner (sbuckner@tbgresidential.com) and Hunter Goldberg (Hunter.Goldberg@jll.com) so that reassignment to a new mentor can try to be arranged.

Education: Must have college or equivalent education and experience.

Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in the real estate industry or related fields, including development, architecture, planning, government, hospitality, transportation, engineering, finance, sustainability, and relevant non-profits.

Current Employment: Currently employed in a real estate-adjacent industry.

Must be a ULI Member: If you are invited to join the program, you must be a ULI member before formally accepting placement. If you are interested in becoming a ULI Member, click here.

Full refunds will be considered only until COB Monday, February 3 prior to the second group event and will only be accepted in the case of unforeseen emergencies that would necessitate one leaving the program or negligence from one’s mentor that cannot be resolved with reassignment.<
