We’ve commissioned a consultant team led by BDP and West 8 to develop and write Liverpool’s Waterfront Plan Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). The Waterfront Plan SPD will set out an ambitious and visionary plan to guide development along Liverpool’s world-famous waterfront over the next 25 years. The area of focus stretches along the waterfront from Sandhills and Bramley Moore Dock in the north, all the way south to Otterspool Promenade and reaches out into adjacent areas.

Engagement so far

In June 2024 the project team, which includes urban designers, architects, landscape architects and transport planners, invited residents, community representatives and other key stakeholders to three interactive workshops. The outputs of these workshops have inspired the team’s initial design responses.

Public consultation survey

BDP and West 8 have developed this survey to consult with you in sharing the emerging ideas, and to gather your feedback before developing the Plan further. This survey is for everyone who lives in, works in or visits Liverpool.

It should take around 10 - 15 minutes to complete, depending on whether you choose to add written comments. Most questions have multiple choice options. If you feel like you do not know the answer to a question, please feel free to leave it blank and move on to the next question.

The survey will run between 16th July and 19th August 2024.

All individual responses and comments will be treated as fully confidential and non-identifiable, and you will not be contacted about your answers. The results will be viewed and held securely by BDP, West 8 and the council.

The results will be published on the council website in a consultation report which is expected to be released in December 2025. Responses will be summarised for inclusion in the report. Your comments may be included in the report, but this will be done anonymously.

The collated answers will be destroyed 12 months after this consultation closes.
