MPUSD Facilities Survey

In June 2018, voters in the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District overwhelmingly approved Measure I, a $213 million school facilities bond, with 70%. This funding allows the district to provide critical repairs for 21st century classrooms. The district's "newest" schools were built in 1965, and every campus needs repair. Specifically, revenue from this bond will provide up-to-date science, technology, engineering, arts, athletic and math classrooms and school facilities to keep pace with learning needs.

We seek your input as we prioritize our Measure I school facilities bond projects. Please take 5 minutes or less to provide feedback so we may make informed decisions based on stakeholder input. Thank you for the passage of Measure I and for your time.

The proposal invests the majority of the initial funding allocation to complete health and safety upgrades such as heating, air, flooring, and major infrastructure projects, while also incorporating a few larger projects that will have long term community benefit/impact on student well being such as updating athletic fields, modernizing classrooms and replacing old portables.

To what degree do you approve of this approach?
