RFBI has proposed to rollover the current enterprise agreement for another year and to pay staff a 2% pay increase for 2022.
HSU members have expressed serious concerns, saying that the proposed 2% pay increase doesn’t keep pace with the rising cost of living and doesn’t give members a chance to bargain for a new enterprise agreement.
Further, HSU members were concerned that the proposed wage increase falls well short of the Fair Work Commission’s recent 4.6% pay increase applied to all Awards, including the Aged Care Award. As a result, union members passed the following resolution:
“This meeting of HSU members agrees that the proposed rollover of the RFBI enterprise agreement and 2% pay increase for 2022 is not acceptable.
We call on RFBI to commence enterprise bargaining with the HSU and we call on RFBI to commit to a higher wage increase."
