Native timber harvesting in Victorian state forests formally ceased on 1 January 2024. In response, the Victorian Government is planning for the State’s transition away from native timber harvesting through the Forestry Transition Program, which is being provided to 11 different communities across Victoria, including the Koondrook area. The Program, which is being led by The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA), requires the development of a Local Development Strategy (LDS), which will be delivered by Urban Enterprise – in partnership with DEECA and the local community – over the next 12 months.

The purpose of the LDS is to identify and prioritise community-led initiatives and projects to facilitate local economic growth and diversification, strengthen economic resilience and enhance liveability.

The community will have several opportunities to have their say and input. This short survey has been designed to help uncover specific issues and identify opportunities for the Koondrook area. This will ensure that projects and priorities for the LDS are championed by locals, and clearly reflects the views and values of the community.

If you would like to have your say, please complete this survey by Monday 25th November 2024

Please note: Your responses will not be disclosed nor distributed to any third parties. The survey results will be aggregated and will not be disclosed or publicised. Confidentiality of results is ensured.
