We hope you will join us for a rare experience of the magic of KidSpirit during the first part of its Global Summit on Sunday, December 8th, 2024! This year’s topic will bring youth and adults together for a morning exploration of "Coming Home to Ourselves."
This hour-long panel session will feature four KidSpirit editors and contributors as they engage with award-winning poet and author Kaitlin Curtice and bestselling illustrator and author John Hendrix. As an enrolled citizen of the Potawatomi nation, Kaitlin Curtice has written many books including Living Resistance: An Indigenous Vision for Seeking Wholeness Every Day and Winter’s Gifts: An Indigenous Celebration of Nature, which is the premier book in a series of children’s books on the four seasons. John Hendrix’s books include Drawing Is Magic: Discovering Yourself in a Sketchbook. He is the Kenneth E. Hudson Professor of Art and the founding Chair of the MFA in Illustration and Visual Culture program at the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis, and The Society of Illustrators named John the Distinguished Educator in the Arts for 2024.
Moderated by Lewis Dabney, Executive Director of the Key Bridge Foundation and conflict resolution expert, this panel will give youth around the world, and you, the chance to be part of this exciting conversation.
