ORGANIC FARMS PROFITABILITY
1.
Welcome to My Survey
Dear Organic Producers:
My name is Yasser Ghoreishi. I am a Ph.D. student in the Human Studies - Interdisciplinary program at Laurentian University. After completing my B.A. in Accounting, I later graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. I have extensive experience nationally and internationally in auditing, financial management, accounting analysis, and reporting, teaching/tutoring, and conducting research projects. I am a member of the Organic Council of Ontario (OCO) and Canadian Organic Grower (COG).
This research proposal is interested in the profitability of organic farms and businesses as well as their perceived benefits on society, the environment and health and how to achieve its pro-social and pro-environmental goals in the Province of Ontario. The support of the government will be part of this research project since government support plays a significant role in promoting organic products and in the success of a lower-cost sustainable organic food system.
The survey contains four sections including company information (9 questions), general information (6 questions), financial (9 questions) and environment & health (2 questions) that would take 10 to 15 minutes for completion.
The findings of this research thesis could be useful for farmers considering organic food growth, policy-makers trying to determine whether organic farmers require subsidies, and scholars who would like to know more about the profitability structure of organic farms.
I appreciate the time and effort required to answer these questions completely and accurately. For participating in this study, you will receive a Tim Horton's gift card as a token of appreciation.
Thank you,
Yasser Ghoreishi, MBA, Ph.D. Candidate, Interdisciplinary Human Studies
