Introduction

The Texas Access to Justice Commission is now accepting applications for its Fall 2024 Internship Program.

All sections of this application must be completed to be considered for the program. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Below is a short list of the information we will ask you to provide in this application:
  • A supervising attorney statement from the legal aid organization hosting you (available here)
  • Multiple short essay questions:
    • Reasons for applying
    • Previous work experience with the low-income community
    • Skills, talents, experiences, or interests that bolster your candidacy
    • What you hope to accomplish with your internship
    • What your plans for your future are
    • An up-to-date resume
It is your responsibility to contact a legal aid program and secure an internship position with a minimum of 200 hours between September 2024 - December 15, 2024 (to find some of the organizations helping low-income neighbors with their civil legal needs in your area, look here)

Late and/or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
  • Submission deadline is 4pm CT, Friday, August 12, 2024.
  • Applicants will be notified on or around Monday, August 19, 2024.
