Hello! Thank you for helping us collect information about LGBTIQ people’s experiences in school settings. Your responses will be helpful in providing evidence of the impact of laws, policies and attitudes on the ability of LGBTIQ people to enjoy the right to education.
Introduction: Discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer (LGBTIQ) people in educational settings is prevalent. Outright International aims to examine the laws, policies, and practices around the world that promote or hinder LGBTIQ people’s right to education. This effort is in line with UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 - to ensure equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
In this survey, we are reaching out to you as your participation will help us understand how school settings in your country shape LGBTIQ students’ experiences.
Anonymity: All information you provide will only be used for the purpose of research. To protect your anonymity, in the report and any other published materials such as news articles, we will not use your names and other signifiers unless you give express permission for these to be used.
Right to refuse or discontinue the survey: You have the right to refuse or discontinue this process at any time. You also retain this right if you do not wish for the information provided to be used after the questionnaire has been returned to Outright. If you change your mind about any part of the survey and you want us to delete or amend the information you have given us, send an email to Ohotuowo oogbeche@outrightinternational.org.

Please read this before you begin: This survey involves discussions and recollections of past and potentially triggering experiences, including bullying, physical and sexual abuse, and other forms of homophobia, transphobia, queerphobia and intersexphobia.

It may take about 30 minutes to complete this survey, depending on how much detail you want to give us about your experiences. If you have questions about any questions about your rights as a participant in this project or wish to report any concerns, you can contact: Neela Ghoshal nghoshal@outrightinternational.org.
Thank you!
