2025 VATFACS Teacher of the Year |
Award Application - Nominations due April 15th
In order to be considered for an ACTE Member Award, the applicant must first apply for the award in Virginia. VATFACS award winners move forward to compete on the state level through Virginia ACTE. The information provided by the applicant on the state level now mirrors award requirements needed by region and national levels.
The member awards are: Outstanding Teacher of the Year; Outstanding New Teacher; and Outstanding Teacher in Community Service.
VATFACS winners of each member award are eligible to compete on the state level through Virginia ACTE. Virginia ACTE winners are eligible to compete for the regional awards. If the award recipient is successful at the regional level, the candidate packet is then forwarded to the national level by the designated deadline. All applicants must assume responsibility for travel, registration, hotel, and other personal expenses. Details and forms can be viewed on the ACTE website at www.acteonline.org.

Presently, the forms for the state level competitions have been adapted from the ACTE award packet. The award forms for the national level only refer to ACTE not FCS specifically. The forms are as similar as possible in order to best prepare applicants to move from state to regional, and finally to national competition.
