Want to create a Fringe Festival show? We want to help!
Pathways to the Fringe is a new workshop series that aims to help folks build the tools they need to enter a production in the lottery draw for the 2026 Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival.
This free series will consist of 10 sessions, letting up to fifteen adult participants investigate different skills for creating and producing a show at the Winnipeg Fringe. Workshops will include explorations of playwriting, collaborative creation, design, working with technicians, grant writing, and more - and of course, seeing shows at the 2025 Fringe!
Sessions will take place one weekend day a month from January - November 2025 from approximately 1:00-3:00 pm; topics and speakers TBC.
Participants are expected to make every effort to attend all sessions:
Sunday January 19
Saturday February 8
Saturday March 15
Saturday April 26
Saturday May 24
Saturday June 21
Fringe runs July 16-27; we will take a break in August.
Saturday September 13
Saturday October 4
Saturday November 8
The 2026 Winnipeg Fringe company entry deadline will be in November with lottery draw in early December.
This application should not take long, but there are some answers that require several sentences/paragraphs; you may wish to write these in a word processing document first and paste them into the text boxes.
The application deadline is December 19th, 2024. Applicants can expect a response by December 30th.
