Purpose: To determine Student interest in the offering of a Health and Social Economics Minor.

Brief: HEALTH ECONOMICS MATTERS!!! The COVID-19 Pandemic highlighted that Health is a cross- cutting, integral dimension of all subject matters.

The proposed Minor in Health and Social Economics will consist of five (5) courses (combination of compulsory and elective courses), for a total of fifteen (15) credits. It is designed to develop the capacities of students as Ideal UWI Graduates. This Minor will build on the need to develop UWI graduates trained in the area of Health and Social Economics to meet the needs of stakeholders of the various Ministries, Private Sectors and International Organizations to address issues of the wider Caribbean with regard to economic development, particularly as it relates to the progress towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
