Stellenbosch Central Perception Survey |
1. Stellenbosch Central - Special Rating Area (SRA)
Dear Participant,
We are conducting this survey to gather the general opinion of Stellenbosch ratepayers regarding safety, cleanliness, homelessness, traffic control and parking.
The primary objective of an SRA is to enhance existing municipal services by supplementing them with funds generated through a Municipal Rates Levy. Please see page 3 of the 2022/2023 Tarrif Book - https://stellenbosch.gov.za/download/appendix-3-tariff-book-2022-2023/?ind=1652692215004&filename=Appendix-3-Tariff-Book-2022-2023.pdf&wpdmdl=17832&refresh=646dc2cc43ed51684914892
SRA initiatives are sponsored and overseen by property owners with the goal of maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy living environment that preserves the area's quality of life and property values. The purpose of an SRA is not to replace municipal services but rather to bolster the services already provided by the municipality.
Proposed boundaries:
- Area from Koloniesland in the east.
- The R44 in the west
- Eerste River serving as the southern border.
- Du Toit and Victoria Street forming the northern border.
Please note that our intention with this survey is to gather your opinion and perceptions at this stage, rather than seeking your consent. Your participation is voluntary, and the survey is not binding in any way.
