The food industry is currently interested in a wide range of novel food production and processing technologies to produce economical and improved quality food products. Cultured Meat is one of them, it is a meat product that has never been part of a living animal but is produced in a laboratory. The aim is to produce a product that is identical to meat in appearance, smell, texture, and taste. The product is not yet available in supermarkets or butcher shops. However, research is devoted to introducing it as a potential new meat production method in the future.
The survey is designed to investigate consumer awareness and any perceived risks and benefits of Cultured Meat in the Republic of Ireland. This questionnaire will provide researchers with some information and data on Irish consumer perceptions and acceptance of Cultured meat in their future diet and this will help to have a better understanding of public attitudes to these technologies.
This survey is part of a Master's Thesis research project in the Sustainable Food Safety Management program at Technological University Dublin, Ireland. If you decide to take part in this study, all information will be treated with strict confidentiality. The survey doesn’t ask for any information which can identify the respondent. However, to reduce the risk of any person being identified during the research, the data will be anonymized before the data analysis.
The survey should only take about 5 minutes of your time.
We very much appreciate your help and participation in the survey.
