KASB Legislative Platform Member Feedback Survey

Introduction

This survey is designed to gather KASB member feedback on the draft KASB state resolutions and possible positions on controversial topics for the 2022 legislative session. Please take a few minutes to review the two documents referred to in this survey and answer all items.

KASB believes local school boards should have authority to make decisions concerning health emergencies such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Because school boards are elected to determine educational policies in the best interests of the community, we oppose special hearing or judicial appeal requirements in these areas that are different from other board actions.

KASB believes policies concerning students and employees during public health emergencies such as pandemics should be determined by state and local officials based on advice from health experts.
