KASB Advocacy Network (KAN) Application

Apply now to be part of the KASB Advocacy Network (KAN).


The KASB Advocacy Network is a network of committed Board Of Education members who will engage with legislators, State Board of Education members, and other influencers to support KASB’s advocacy for student success.

Expectations: Be knowledgeable about and support KASB legislative policy; participate in briefings and trainings; develop and maintain relationships with local legislators, Members of Congress, and your regional State Board of Education member. Be willing and prepared to submit testimony on short notice; call lawmakers during “crunch” times; commit to visible participation and advocacy for KASB positions at local and Congressional town halls/coffees/listening tours/State Board of Ed meetings in Topeka and region; support/participate in “Bring your legislator to school” and similar events.


Benefits/recognition: Help improve KASB’s advocacy for student success; tell the true story of public education in Kansas; recognition at KASB Convention, conferences, and other events.
