Award Nomination Information
Beginning in 2020, the Westerville Area Chamber created a Veteran Champion Award to recognize an individual businessperson/business owner (veteran or not) to be recognized as the Veteran Champion of the Year during the Annual Membership Meeting, Innovation Showcase and Awards Reception. This person is selected among the nominations received from the community. This form allows you to nominate someone.

Eligibility Requirements
- The award is designed for the businessperson (veteran or veteran advocate), not the specific business itself.
- The award is open to any businessperson of any size business.
- The award is open to both Chamber Members and non-members, with priority given to Chamber Member business.
- The nominee must work and/or do business in the Westerville Area Chamber’s footprint.
- An employee, colleague and/or associate can nominate the businessperson.
Information to include in your nomination
- Examples of successful actions in support of Veterans.
- Examples of a reputation of personal integrity and fair business practices.
- Demonstration of leadership in the business sector.
- Demonstration of community/civic involvement could include significant contributions to veterans, veteran organizations or veteran initiatives.
- Provide specialized support and/or services to military veterans or veteran families.
The initial selection committee representing veterans, past Chamber Business Person of the Year Recipients and the Chamber Board of Trustees will review all nominations and select an individual who exemplifies dedication and commitment as a Veteran Business Owner or a Champion of Veterans and/or Veteran Families.
Deadline
Deadline for receipt of nominations is Monday, November 4, 2024.
Notification
Applicants will be contacted in mid-December to announce the 2024 recipients. The Award will be presented at the Annual Meeting, Awards, and Innovation Showcase luncheon., Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
