Introduction

The purpose of this survey is to gather information from motor carriers to help shape BCTA’s advocacy strategy addressing government regulations, programs and initiatives affecting the trucking industry. Following the provincial election on October 19th, and a new government taking shape in the coming weeks, this survey aims to gather information to support government outreach.

In particular, information will be utilized by BCTA to advocate for the expansion of PST credits or exemptions to include capital expenditures for the heavy-duty commercial road vehicle industry, similar to the Production Machinery and Equipment (PM&E) PST exemptions.
The aggregated data from this survey will be made available to all participants who contribute to the survey. BCTA will conduct the data management in-house, ensuring that any information that could potentially identify individual carriers will be removed to maintain confidentiality. This approach will ensure that participants can access valuable insights while maintaining privacy.

The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete with the necessary information on-hand. The questions will request:

  • Information on your company such as the size, type of operation, and annual revenue
  • Information on heavy duty trucks/buses with GVW 11,794kg or greater in your fleet
  • The number of vehicles you estimate will be turned over this year
  • Cost information for fuel, tolls, insurance, repairs etc.

If you would prefer to answer this survey in a word or PDF document, rather than through SurveyMonkey, please contact BCTA Policy Analyst, Manuel Ekpini at 604-888-5319 ext. 223 or manuele@bctrucking.com.

Please complete this survey by November 22, 2024.
