Officials Development

The Equestrian Queensland (EQ) Sport Development Fund for Officials, provides funding which is aimed at supporting EQ Sport committees and EQ Affiliates to support growth and development of officials through educational opportunities through the delivery of FEI/EA recognised workshops/courses.

The funding may also support individual officials who live regionally to develop and increase the standard of excellence by providing funds directly to the individual to assist with travel expenses associated with attending EA/FEI recognised workshops/courses. The individual must be located more than 400km from Brisbane CBD.

ELIGIBILITY

For EQ Affiliates and EQ Sport Committee’s hosting Officials development courses

To be eligible under this program all applications must meet the following criteria:
  • be an EQ Sport Committee, or endorsement has been received by an Affiliate from the EQ Sport Committee to host the course/seminar
  • use EA current and registered Officials or EA recognised qualified professionals to deliver course/seminar
For Individual Officials attending upgrade/reaccreditation courses

To be eligible under this program all applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • be a current member of EQ
  • hold a current EA Officiating accreditation
  • applicants must be attending an endorsed EA/FEI course for officiating
  • event/course must be held between 1 Jan and 1 Dec 2025 and be EA/FEI endorsed
  • to cover travel expenses only
NOTE:
  • There is no limit to the number of applications that may be submitted, however if an applicant submits more than one application over the 12-month period, they will be required to rank/prioritise their applications. Multiple applications will only be considered if funding is undersubscribed.
  • Equestrian Queensland reserves the right to determine priorities for the allocation of funding, taking account of; the quality of the information provided and the total funds available in the program.
  • Where funding has been provided to an affiliate and/or Sport Committee, EQ reserves the right to determine whether funding is provided to individuals should “travel expenses” be applied for the same activity.
  • If the application is for regional assistance, the individual must be located more than 400km from Brisbane CBD
  • Once fully subscribed the funding will be closed.
APPLYING FOR SPORT DEVELOPMENT FUNDING

For EQ Officials Development

The following steps apply to all applications for funding:
  1. ensure that the proposed course/seminar meets the eligibility criteria outlined above
  2. ensure all presenters hold a current EA Official qualification and are qualified to deliver the course/seminar content
  3. complete the online application form, answering the following:
  • indicate expected participation numbers of EQ members and restricted participants
  • supply the requested supporting documentation
For Individual Officials - Regional

Complete the online application form, answering the following:
  1. ensure you meet the eligibility criteria outlined above
  2. indicate the course type, date and venue
  3. expenses incurred
NOTE: If the application is for regional assistance, the individual must be located more than 400km from Brisbane CBD.
How much funding am I able to apply for?

For EQ Officials Development
Funding is limited to a maximum of $750 per application. Applicants are eligible for funding more than once, however all applications are based on merit.

For Individual Officials – Regional
All applications are based on merit, funding is limited to a maximum of $500 per application. Applicants are eligible for funding more than once, however secondary applications will be held in the EQ office and assessed at the end of November 2025. Funding is to assist with travel expenses for those officials that are based in regional areas, for associated EA/FEI nationally and internationally recognised Official courses within the sport. The individual must be located more than 400km from Brisbane CBD.

IMPORTANT DATES
  • This funding is open to activities conducted from 1 January to 1 December 2025. Once fully subscribed the funding will be closed.

WHAT IS REQUIRED ONCE FUNDING HAS BEEN APPROVED?

For EQ Officials Development

If the application for funding is approved, you are eligible to receive 100% of the approved amount after the date of the ‘activity’ upon the receipt of;
  • an invoice made to EQ (not required for an EQ Sport Committee)
  • completed attendees list (listing participants full names and EQ membership status)
  • copy of flyer or screen shot of social media post the acknowledging Equestrian Queensland for the endorsement and funding of the ‘activity’ (see below)
  • final budget (outlining the participants and the EQ Sports Committee’s financial contribution)
  • All follow-up paperwork is required to be submitted to EQ by 1 December 2025, failure to do so will result in any monies being forfeited.

For Individual Officials - Regional
If your application for funding is approved, you are eligible to receive 100% of the approved amount after the date of the course upon the receipt of;
  • If the application is for regional assistance, the individual must be located more than 400km from Brisbane CBD.
  • Individuals direct deposit bank details
  • All follow-up paperwork and evidence of expenditure are required to be submitted to EQ by 1 December 2025, failure to do so will result in any monies being forfeited.
