Proposed Provider Enrollment System - Provider Survey

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will be implementing a new online Provider Management and Enrollment System (PMES) to ease the administrative burdens of Medicaid enrollment and re-enrollment. PMES will allow Medicaid providers and providers participating in other state-funded programs (see list below) to submit an enrollment or re-enrollment application through one centralized portal. The application will then be routed to TMHP, MCO credentialing organizations, and other HHS enterprise agencies as appropriate to complete program-specific enrollments.

As part of PMES development, we are soliciting feedback from Medicaid providers on functionalities and process improvements that they would like to see associated with a new provider enrollment system. We have asked provider associations to distribute this survey among their members. As part of the survey, we are gathering provider demographic information. Responses will be anonymous.

This survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Your responses are appreciated, and any feedback provided will be taken into consideration as PMES is developed.

The following groups will be able to enroll using PMES and should complete this survey:

• Texas Medicaid providers

• Home and Community Based Services – Adult Mental Health (HCBS-AMH) providers

• Ordering/referring-only providers

Individual providers who are not currently enrolled in Texas Medicaid and whose only relationship with Texas Medicaid is to order or refer supplies or services for Texas Medicaid-eligible clients must enroll in Texas Medicaid as participating providers

• Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Services Program providers

• Texas Health Steps (THSteps) dental services provider, including fee-for-service dental providers and managed care

• THSteps medical checkup providers
