African Researchers' Connectivity and Resource Access: A Needs Assessment Survey |
General information
This survey has been prepared under the support of the European Union (EU) co-funded project AfricaConnect3 in cooperation between the three regional research and education networks of Africa: Ubuntunet Alliance, West and Central Africa Research and Education Network (WACREN) and the Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN), in addition to the pan-European R&E Network GÉANT.
The main objectives of the survey are to (1) explore available and potential research communities/groups and communities of practice, (2) gauge the status of connectivity and access to resources, and (3) capture and identify the needs of researchers and academics in terms of connectivity, services and access mechanisms.
Our message to the kind respondents: As African Regional Research and Education Networks and in cooperation with the National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) in each African country, we look forward to understanding your needs and figuring out your expectations in R&E areas as this will be key in planning our services and cooperation projects towards enlarging networking and collaborations between researchers in Africa and with their counterparts in Europe and the globe.
