CDTC's partners and trail community play a vital role in assisting with CDTC’s mission to complete, protect, and promote the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail and enrich the surrounding landscape.
 
We are inviting you to participate in the CDTC Strategic Visioning Survey to help guide the next stage of work to fulfill our mission. This survey will take around 10 minutes to complete.

* 2. The mission of CDTC is to complete, promote, and protect the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail by building a strong and diverse trail community, providing up-to-date information to the public, and encouraging conservation and stewardship of the Trail, its corridor, and surrounding landscapes. In our efforts to fulfill this mission, CDTC currently focuses on the following programs/efforts:

  • Volunteer Stewardship (community stewardship events, volunteer projects, CDTC Trail Adopters)
  • Trail Protection & Completion (completing the CDT, preserving the trail corridor, etc.)
  • Education & Communication (promoting the CDT to a wider audience, providing info to those wishing to learn about the CDT, encouraging Leave No Trace principles)
  • Community Engagement & Outreach (connecting local citizens to the CDT, participating in efforts to increase diversity and equity in the outdoors, promoting outdoor recreation economies, etc.)
  • Trail Information (Global Information Systems, creating informational resources for trail users, trail updates, etc.) 
  • Advocacy & Policy (legislative advocacy, educating decisionmakers, Tribal government relations, etc.)
