Escalating Bans for a Fairer PTO Award |
PTO members are fighting with the Ministry of Health for a fair award that protects PTOs, patients and the community, and ensures workers have a say in the document that governs their working lives. On Monday 3rd June, the Ministry met with the PTO award committee and shared the following responses:
Enshrining two shift patterns in the award – Not supported.
Fair rostering principles – Not supported.
A real pay rise this year, including allowances – Neutral, deferred to NSW pay offer.
Commitment to excellence in training and certification – Partially supported (outside Award).
Required certifications to be paid for by employer – Not supported.
Additional leave – Not supported.
Provisions for fatigue management – Not supported.
Vehicle cleaning and safety inspection time – Not supported.
Meaningful consultation – Supported in principle.
Honouring grandparented arrangements – Supported through 2016 Determination.

NOTE: The below actions are directly related to the award negotiation process, and are separate to safety bans discussed at yesterday's member meeting.
