Seeking presenters from a variety of backgrounds & perspectives to educate people who work & volunteer at nonprofit organizations.
The Nonprofit Association of Oregon (NAO) and the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) Portland seek to engage a wide variety of presenters so we are collaborating on a Call for Presenters. This means you only have to fill out one form to engage with both organizations.

As the sector-wide membership-based network representing all Oregon nonprofits, the Nonprofit Association of Oregon (NAO) works across the state to strengthen and connect nonprofit leaders, organizations, and the sector as a whole. NAO has a reputation for offering quality training events that provide information and tools to nonprofit staff, board members, volunteers, and others engaged with the nonprofit sector. We seek presenters interested in getting involved in our work by leading:
  • Workshops (full or half-day, or series across the state)
  • Networks (90 minute presentations for networks of fiscal managers, nonprofit leaders, equity & inclusion leaders in Bend, Grants Pass, Portland, and Medford)
  • Webinars (individual sessions or series)
  • The High Desert Nonprofit Conference (September 28 in Bend)
  • And, various other convening formats
The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) Portland is a volunteer-led and -run organization that supports current and future nonprofit and community leaders through professional development training, networking events, service activities, and web-based platforms for connecting and sharing resources.  We seek presenters interested in getting involved in our work by leading:
Combined, NAO & YNPN annually serve over 3000 individuals and 2000 organizations through training programs.
Topics & Selection
Training programs cover a variety of topics relevant to Oregon's nonprofit community. The following guidelines will be used to select appropriate content:
  • Is the topic applicable and of interest to nonprofit staff, volunteers or board members, and their organizations?
  • Is the topic timely? Is there an immediate need for this type of training?
  • What unique perspective or expertise will this presentation or presenter(s) provide?
  • Does the presentation provide clearly articulated learning goals and objectives, and associated handouts, worksheets, resources, and tools?
  • Is the presentation appropriate for beginners or advanced audiences?
We are specifically looking to categorize presentations into the following key areas:

  • Board, Governance & Ethics
  • Communications & Marketing
  • Equity & Inclusion
  • Financial Management
  • Fund Development
  • Human Resources & Operations
  • Information & Technology
  • Leadership
  • Planning, Purpose & Strategy
  • Program Management & Evaluation

Presentations for the YNPN Activate! Summit will need to fall into one of the following tracks:
  1. Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
  2. 21st Century Leadership
  3. Personal Meets Professional
Submissions for YNPN Portland professional development events and the Activate! Summit will be reviewed based on YNPN's five pillars of leadership development and the Summit themes. Individuals with rich and relevant content but no experience presenting to a conference audience are encouraged to apply.

As a presenter, you will:
  • Have the opportunity to give back to a community that values volunteerism, connect with nonprofit professionals, and showcase your expertise
  • Prepare and present an engaging presentation on the topic you proposed
  • Provide tools and resources appropriate for the presentation
NAO and/or YNPN will:
  • Review all presentation submissions to determine if they fit organizational and programmatic priorities
  • Contact you if your training fits into needed programming to confirm your availability and schedule the presentation
  • Provide the training venue and all associated logistical support
  • Market your name, organization, and presentation to our members and constituents through email, social media, and website
