Island County Chapter 7 Element Parks & Recreation Plan |
1. Purpose
Island County Parks and Public Works are updating Chapter 7 Element of the Parks & Recreation Plan of the Comprehensive Plan for a long-term vision for conservation areas and parks in Island County. The purpose of the Parks & Recreation Plan is to provide guidance for the County's management and development of conservation, trail, and park properties for the next 6-20 years.
To make the Plan successful, the County would like to hear from as many people as possible. This survey will help us understand how you currently use the County's overall park system including conservation areas, trails, and parks provided by Island County as well as Oak Harbor, Coupeville, and Langley, Washington State Parks & Recreation, Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Department of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW), NAS Whidbey Island, North and South Whidbey Park & Recreation Districts, Oak Harbor, Coupeville, South Whidbey, and Stanwood/Camano Island School Districts, Ports of Coupeville, South Whidbey, and Mabana, Whidbey Island Land Trust (WCLT), and others to help us plan for the future of the County's existing and future potential conservation areas, trails, and parks.
Please also, attend one of the virtual/in-person open houses to be conducted in Freeland Hall at 5:30 pm on the 2nd of December, Camano Library at 6:00 pm on the 5th of December, Coupeville Library at 5:45 pm on the 9th of December, and the Skagit Valley College Library in Oak Harbor at 4:30 pm on the 10th of December.
Please be sure to enter your name and email at the end of the survey to be entered into a drawing for a $250 gift certificate (your contact information will be kept confidential.) Thank you for your time to complete this survey.
