Our Research Aim

The IoD UK has published a consultation document on a Code of Conduct for Directors. The Code of Conduct was developed for IoD UK by a Commission chaired by Lord McNicol of West Kilbride, and was published with the support of BDO. The proposed aim of the IoD UK Code is a tool to help directors make better decisions. It also provides organisational leaders with a behavioural framework that can help them build and maintain the trust of the wider public in their business activities.

As part of IoD Ireland’s Research, Policy, and Advocacy remit we are now reviewing this Code of Conduct for Directors. We are seeking members views on its scope with the aim of using this information in our formal consultation response back to the IoD UK. We value your insights in this survey, and will be guided by your views. Please note IoD Ireland is not proposing to introduce this Code to our members.

For more information on the Code, visit the IoD UK website: IoD launches public consultation on a Code of Conduct for Directors.
