Request for Input

The NACAC Ad Hoc Committee on Leadership in College Admission seeks your input on major issues facing our profession and the students we serve. As the committee sets its agenda and moves to recommend solutions, we want to ensure that we are incorporating the perspectives of our diverse membership.
Please review the following five requests for input before responding. We hope you will have time to respond to all five questions, but you may wish to focus your available time on those most meaningful/relevant to your work. The deadline for responses is Friday, January 17.

* 1. As the effects of the Department of Justice’s restraint of trade investigation unfold, how can NACAC best maintain a focus on ethical and professional practice in an environment where standards and norms may no longer be enforceable?

NACAC's membership includes school counselors and college admission officers, as well as independent education consultants, community-based organizations, and entities both non-profit and for-profit. Based on your professional affiliation, what are the biggest challenges you face in the current college admission counseling landscape, and what future challenges do you anticipate?

* 3. How can NACAC best support you and your school/institution/organization with the challenges you face in coping with uncertainty and change in student advising and recruiting?

* 5. School or institutional governance, public policy, and market dynamics all, to some degree, are needed to effect change if large-scale, persistent challenges are to be addressed. How can NACAC best exercise influence in conjunction with and on behalf of its full membership to help bring about change based on our core values?
