October 2017

Thank you for agreeing to participate in this survey pertaining to curbside management. As part of an effort jointly supported by the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO), we are seeking to gain a greater understanding of your jurisdiction’s goals, policies, and practices for the evaluation and implementation of treatments which make use of roadway curb space.

The goal of this effort is to create a cache of case studies documenting successes and lessons learned to guide the development of a manual identifying a toolkit of potential strategies and best practices to be used as a reference for future projects.  Please contact Steve Davis if you have any questions about this survey or would like to share any additional information directly.

Thank you for your time and responses today. To continue the conversation please join us at the upcoming NACTO Designing Cities Conference (October 30 to November 2 in Chicago) and TRB Annual Meeting (January 7 to 11 in Washington, DC) sessions that focus on developing methods to 1) prioritize curbspace use via key performance measures; 2) review curbspace use as part of a new transportation project or the site plan review process; and 3) assess safety / minimize conflicts when implementing innovative street treatments. The discussions will include a review of content and data anticipated to be included in the development of the new manual.
