Exit RECREATING HENDERSON STREET Question Title About:The Recreating Henderson Street corridor project is a street design effort for and by the Rainier Beach community that will create a vision and improvement plan for S Henderson Street.The Recreating Henderson Street Project Team is engaging with residents, students, businesses, property owners, organizations, artists, and everyone in between to gather ideas and input to recreate S Henderson Street as a beautiful neighborhood street that reflects community values, history, and identity. This corridor runs east and west to connect the Rainier Beach light rail station to Be'er Sheva Park and Lake Washington.Project Goals: Activate and enhance spaces along S Henderson Street for community and recreational opportunities Create a safe and vibrant cultural corridor that represents the diversity of Rainier Beach Feature art by neighborhood artists and youth Engage community, businesses, and property owners in the street design process Background:2012 - Rainier Beach Neighborhood Plan identifies S Henderson Sreet as an important corridor2016 - Rainier Beach community organizations establish the Link2Lake vision for an improved connection of S Henderson Street2023 - Rainier Beach Action Coalition (RBAC) builds on the Link2Lake vision and engages community members to identify priorities for S Henderson Street2024 - RBAC continues community outreach to develop new street designs for S Henderson StreetSurvey:We would like to build on what you love about S Henderson Street!
