Workshop expression of interest
Please complete this expression of interest for your employees to attend an education program with the aim of reducing discrimination faced by assistance animal handlers’ when trying to access public places. This will include:
1. Attendance at virtual educational workshops for employees;
2. “Assistance Animals are Welcome Here” packs sent to participating businesses.

Assistance animals are not pets, but are highly trained animals that enable a person with disability to safely participate in personal and public life.
Unfortunately, many businesses are still not aware of the legal rights that assistance animal handlers have in accessing public places which puts them at risk of breaking the law. By having your employees attend these workshops, you will be reducing the risk of having complaints to the Human Rights Commission being brought against you and will empower your employees to recognise when a dog is not an assistance dog.
